What to do when you receive your invitation
If eligible, you will receive a letter from your local NHS service inviting you to make a lung health check appointment. Please ring the number on the letter to make an appointment. Have the reference number from the letter at hand, as you will be asked to supply this along with your details.
If you are unsure as to whether to attend then please do speak to the booking team about any concerns or questions you may have.
What to do if you don’t receive an invitation
If you are registered with one of the participating GP practices, then you should receive an invitation. If you haven’t received an invitation, then please call this number: 020 3350 1513
Remember, in order to be invited you must be:
- Aged 55 to 74.
- A smoker or have smoked previously.
- Registered with a participating GP Practice.
If you have not told your doctors that you have smoked or are still smoking, this will not be registered on their system and therefore you will not be invited to have a lung health check, even if you meet the age criteria. Please call 020 3350 1513 to book an appointment.
You’re not eligible but have concerns
If you have any symptoms you are worried about, for instance a persistent cough that you have had for 3 weeks or more, feeling breathless, or unexplained weight loss then you should make an appointment with your GP.
